Twenty-Nine: ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, what a relief!  Today is St. Patrick’s day and there are so many options in Portland to distract me from my pain.  Plus, I actually woke up pretty content this morning.  No anger.  Whew!

Justina and I went to the Northeast St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Hollywood District.  It was pretty great.  Real live bagpipers – my favorite!  Lots of dogs wearing green clothes.  That was interesting.  Portlanders love their dogs.  There were also a lot of people on bikes, another Portland staple.  One couple was dressed like leprechauns and riding a Tandem bike.  I was pretty impressed with their outfits.  There was a middle school marching band that sounded REALLY great.  The parade was only 15 minutes, but it was really fun!

After the parade we went to EastBurn for delicious Irish food and brews.  It was PACKED.  But well worth the wait!  I had corned beef and mashed potatoes with cabbage and leeks.   Yumm-o!  Justina had brisket, roasted potatoes, egg and toast.  Super delicious.  And everyone was wearing green.  So beautiful!

Justina and I were so full that we came home and took naps.   Well, she took a nap.  I laid on the bed and watched Once Upon A Time.  I’m pretty far behind….but I don’t think I care too much.  I just needed to watch something.  Later on Xiao Xuan and Ashley came over.  Ashley made cool British drinks for us.  Pretty yummy.  We all watched the Cosby Show for hours.  I’ve gotten Xiao Xuan addicted to it, it’s pretty awesome.

All in all, it really was a GREAT day!  I felt good for most of it.  That’s pretty much all I can ask for.  And I have wonderful people in my house and the house next door, what a delightful bonus!  J

I hope all of you enjoyed your St. Patrick’s Day and didn’t get pinched!
