So I drove up Eola Hills today on my way home from Mac and Amity to see the view....and at least half of 2 or 3 of the forests up the road have been chopped down, making room for houses. It's sickening. But I'm not suprised. Eola Hills has great views. Everything's just changing, the country is becoming the suburb and it's making me sick. Even on the hill behind my house there are more houses up there than there were five years ago. Sick, sick, sick. Rich people coming into the country to "get away" from the city but then they don't want to deal with the wildlife and farm animals imposing on their lives. And they cut down our forests and lay down their cement pads. Sick.
I went to the Amity Public Library for the first time in my life today. I didn't even know Amity had a library until my senior year of high school. It's super tiny. Two rooms. Maybe about ten or twelve shelves. But, it had the books I was looking for, so I'm happy. I also visited Grandpa, Louis, and my grandpa's parents at the cemetary. Things are looking good. They've put up a gate....although it looks kind of funny because there isn't a fence around the cemetary. So there's a free-standing gate there in the middle. Maybe they're planning to put a fence, but either haven't gotten to it or just don't have the money yet.
Mom and I went to lunch at the Sage today in Mac. DE-LICIO-US!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that place! I had a small green salad with yummy garlic dressing and creamy broccoli soup. So so yummy! After that we walked over to Third Street Books and I got a wedding card for Megan and Brandon. Never know just where you'll find the perfect thing! After that we went to Ranch Records and I got 4 great CDs for $12. That place never gets old. Love it!
I think I'm going to go lay outside and read for awhile. I need some sun. The wedding is only two weeks away!
