"This is how it works, You're young until you're not, You love until you don't...And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath" -Regina Spektor

I am sorry it's been so long. Not that many people read this anyway....but to the two or three who do care, I'm sorry. I have updated on Myspace...just haven't had much Internet time lately. I had to cancel AOL ( I hate it anyway) and then People PC didn't come until yesterday. And I was in Vancouver. But now I'm here and it's all installed and once again my computer is happily online. Yay!

So....Let's see. The last time I updated was when my car got hit...oh, that's right before all the madness started. So that Thursday (Oct. 19) I went to my friend Randi (from high school)'s house for dinner. It was nice to just hang out and talk with her, it had been awhile. The next day I drove up to Portland and spent the day with Micaela, another friend from high school (and middle school). It was great fun. We went to Powell's and spent a good 2 hours...reading Edward Gorey books (my new favorite author) and reading other funny books. I found some Parking Citations that are helping me cope with the hit-and-run. Micalea found some You're Foxy notes that are helping her cope with....um, actually I think it's just for fun. Haha. After Powell's we went down to the waterfront and had some yummy chai. It was sooo nice out!

After the waterfront we went back to Micaela's house and I met her roommates (well...all except for one, who was in Hawaii). They are funny. And the house is pretty awesome, even if there is a ghost. Seriously.

Saturday I went to Kimee's for the scrapbooking extravaganza with her and her sisters (and our mutual friend, Grace). It was quite fun, even though I'm pretty sure I got my sickly runny nose from Kimee....ugh. Oh well. It was worth it. That night I went to sleep around 4am....woke up at 9am...and watched While You Were Out until everyone else got up. We did more scrapbooking and watched most of the first season of LOST. I got home around 8:30pm.

Monday I slept and cleaned and managed my calendar. And found out that I did not get the receptionist job at the cool law firm. Poo.

Tuesday I did some more cleaning and then met Hollie in Salem. We wandered around downtown for awhile and I bought a Christmas present for Ellen. Normally, I don't go Christmas shopping until the day after Thanksgiving or early December....and I guess I really wasn't Christmas shopping, I just found this awesome thing (I can't really say what it is in case Ellen somehow reads this) and I immediately thought of Ellen and Christmas is the closest time to give gifts. Of course, I could just randomly send it to her, but since Christmas is kind of coming up (and if you went to the mall...specifically BATH & BODY WORKS, you would think it is tomorrow) I've decided to take advantage of giving her the best Christmas present ever.
So....after that we headed over to the new Lancaster movie theater...and it's freakin' HUGE (which it should be, heck, it cost $10 million)! Tuesday was a benefit day, meaning that all movies were only $1. SWEET! They were movies that have already come out on DVD, but you can't even rent movies for $1! So we saw "Click". I liked it, despite the fact that it is definitely not a kid movie and there were kids in the audience! Stupid parents! That's how the good kids pick up the bad language! For Heaven's Sake!
After the movie we went to Ross so I could get more scrapbooks (I filled up all the other ones I had during the scrapbooking extravaganza) and it didn't take long to find them, but we were in line FOREVER. So we didn't have time to eat anything before I had to take Hollie back to her car so she could go to her Criminology Club thing.
And then....I was on the wrong side of town...where there are no good restaurants....so I had to eat....yes....Taco Bell. UGH. Seriously, it was either that or McDonald's, Burger King, or Dairy Queen. TB was the best out of all those. I'm sorry.

Wednesday morning I found out that two of my cousins had been arrested last week. They had been beating up their sister's "fiance". Now they can't live in the same house. And that means my grandma is home alone all day. And she can't really get around that well. So she had called me for help, but I couldn't because I had to be in Beaverton for Wednesday and Thursday. Which actually turned out to be okay because one of my cousins had gotten permission from the parole officer to come home from school at lunch time to help grandma out. And now one of my other cousins (that does not live with my grandparents and is not the brother of the kids that live there) volunteered to help out. He doesn't have a job now and is actually considering becoming the caretaker for my grandparents. Which would be awesome.

So...later Wednesday morning and all day Thursday I was in Beaverton helping Julie and Hank (otherwise known as babysitting in ShirkeyLand). It was acutally pretty fun. I like the Shirkeys. And I like that I can help give Julie a break, because I know she pretty much never gets one. Plus, I got to hang out with Kristin and talk to her for awhile, which was good because we haven't spent much time together the last 4 years.

Friday I slept and cleaned. And took care of business. And aggravated over the fact that I still didn't have internet on my computer and that my parents' computer hated me and crashed every time I tried to use it.

Yesterday I drove up to Vancouver to see my friend Alana. Her and her husband (Vico) moved into her parents' basement last month and they work different shifts, so she's usually alone on the weekends. So I came to keep her company. It was fun. We watched movies and talked and hung out with her brothers. When Vico came home, we watched "Love Actually" (my FAVORITE Christmas movie EVER) and he made me some yummy dinner. It was really good (except for the shrimp....but that was my fault). Tonight I drove back. And now I am super tired. I really need to stop blogging and just go to bed.

So....my life just got crazy after last weekend...and crazier after last Wednesday. The thing with my cousins is really pressing...plus, their sister and her "fiance" just moved to Michigan...and none of us know if we will ever see her again. So far she's still communicating with us, which is good. I just wish I could have sat down and talked to her face to face before she left. Ugh. I guess email will have to be enough.

Well, I've hit a new level of tired....so I'm going to go. Hope you have all had a good couple of weeks. :) Happy Halloweeeeen.
