Goodness gracious, I am the worst blogger ever. Or, maybe I'm just hooked on too many sites. Or, maybe my life kind of sucks. Probably a combination of all the above. Whatev.
I think all of my best thoughts when I'm driving and can't write them down. I try to make my mind hold onto them until I get home, but it never works. It's SO annoying. I was thinking good things today...and I can't really remember them all. ARRRRG! I wish my commute was shorter.
Life 'round here has changed...and hasn't changed. It's a new season, has been I suppose since June 21. It's summer, July, actually, but somehow my mind still feels like it's May. Is that what happens when you get older? You move so fast, the months whiz by, and when you finally slow down you feel like it's the month you started flying in? I know this is probably something everyone realizes at one time or another. I'm tired of jumping through the twenty-something hoops and watching people look down on me. Can I be a grown-up now?
Whoops, that took an unexpected turn. I think I was going to talk about life around here...mostly in the physical sense. People are building stuff all around us. It's making me sick. Like we really need more wineries in Yamhill County. Please. Do something original!
Beavers. Haven't you ever heard the phrase, "don't bite off more than you can chew,"? Jerks. They took two of our smaller trees, which actually I'm not too upset about. But THEN they ate around one of our gorgeous cherry trees and now it's going to die! They haven't even come back to take it! Don't chew around it if you're not going to take it! UGH! Now I have chain-sawing to look forward to in the fall. Thanks, turds!
Mowie escaped to the outside a few weeks ago, so I've been letting him out almost everyday. He loves it. I wish I could let him be outside all the time, but I'm too afraid. It's too dangerous with the highway so close and crazy vineyard workers driving too fast on our driveway. So, he's just going to have to make do with the hour or so I let him out each day.
Speaking of Mowie, he is becoming more of a dog every day. You know how dogs chase after water that comes out of the hose? Well, I found out the other day that Mowie does that too. It was so freaking FUNNY! I seriously almost peed my pants! So we have this huge garden out front that my parents have mostly let go, so it's all tall grass. Well, Mowie was sitting in some of the grass and I was getting ready to wash my car. I turned on the hose and started watering some roses (it was really hot last week) while waiting for the water to get cold. Mowie saw the water and pounced at it! I sprayed the water into the grass-garden and Mowie chased it, bouncing up and down through the grass! Oh my goodness...that cat! He is so hilarious sometimes!
I'm going to camp in a couple weeks. That's pretty much my only summer vacation. I hope it's a vacation.....I'm going with my parents. Dad's still bad. But at least he took my advice (FINALLY!!!) and went to a Naturopath. I really think it will help. And if for some reason it doesn't, at least he can say he's tried everything, instead of just sitting around wallowing like he has for the past two years. Goodness Gracious!
Well, I should get going. I'm sure there's something important that needs my attention. Hope you are all having a FAN-TASTIC summa!
