The Greatness of God

So yesterday I went to my interview at Visiting Angels in Newberg. I walk up the stairs to the office and am SO surprised by who I see sitting at the table in the corner of the room. This guy that I haven't seen for five years who used to go to my church and I used to babysit his kids! We chatted for a bit and he mentioned that he'd seen my name on one of the applications and was glad I was coming in. Then I met the supervisor (the lady I had the interview with) and we started the interview.

It was the best interview I've ever had! It went SO well! I felt so confident in my answers, much more confident than I had been with the secretarial interviews. Near the end of the interview, she said, "Is it alright that I call your refrences? Even though Jeff was a pretty good one for you," and I said, "Yes, oh, he was? That's nice of him!". And then SHE said, "Well yeah, he OWNS the place!" And I almost fell of my chair!!!

How crazy is it that the place I apply at that I actually WANT to work at and heard about through a friend, is actually owned by someone I already know??? And I didn't already know that he owned it!!!

Needless to say, I got the job! All of you who prayed, thank you so much!!! God made it crystal clear that that was the job I was supposed to have!!!

So I "start" (unofficially) today. I have an interview with a client. Gretchen (my new supervisor) said that she wanted me to come along so I can learn about the interview process, and that the client might even pick me as a caregiver if I'm confident enough! WOW! I've got orientation tomorrow and then work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (assuming that I don't get the client today).

After my interview today I'm going up to the lovely CRC to break the awesome news to my baby brother in person, and also to Lindsay, who's the one who kind of pushed me to put my application in with this place. Also, I'm supposed to hang out with Rosa today, so why not kill all three birds with one stone? (well, not "kill", it's a figure of speech)

The blessings don't stop there. I had a GREAT time with Grandma when I picked her up to go to the doctor, I was so happy that her complaining just couldn't get me down! And she was really happy that I got a job too. I even stayed at her place for a bit after the appointment to chat with her, which I don't normally do (because usually I'm sick of her complaining by then). Nothin' got me down yesterday, not even Dad's imbalance, although he was in better spirits yesterday.

I called Dad on the way home because I was running late from hanging out with Grandma, and he told me that Sister Georgjean (a really really really awesome nun from Arizona that we know through CRC) had called him out of the blue and said that he'd been on her heart! God is so awesome! That is exactly what my dad needed! He's been having carpool troubles this week, just another thing to knock him down, so it was a blessing (even though he didn't admit it) for her to call!

Mom had a really good day at work too! Of course, I had called her right after my interview because I just couldn't contain myself! So that really made her day!

Man, I just feel so BLESSED! I've never been this obviously and awesomly blessed in my entire life! That's saying a lot!

Well, I should probably get dressed and get some food in my tummy before I take off. I hope you all have a great day today! God's watching over you, whether you believe in Him or not!!!
